stage - theater
Walter Schnackenberg was very attached to the theater.
Between 1911 and 1934 he designed numerous stage decorations. Around 1920 he designed the interior of the Pavillon Gruss, the "most exclusive venue in Munich" in the German theater.

sets and costumes
Designs for expressive costumes for theater and dance productions. The images of these templates offer a fascinating insight into the creative process and the implementation of art in the world of theater and dance.
The dancers Lo Hesse and Joachim von Seewitz worked in Munich and Berlin between 1916 and 1920.
Like the dance couple Maria Leeser and Hasso Holm in the 1920s, they use extravagant, exotic costumes in their dances, most of which were designed by the Munich expressionist Walter Schnackenberg.
